Hello my name is Shadi (pronounced Shawdee) Reeder. I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and also a Certified Registered Nurse Anethesiologist. I started my nursing career as an ICU nurse after graduating from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1997. I worked at Mass General Hospital for 5 years before I went back to school to earn an Advanced Practice degree at Boston College in 2003. I graduated in 2005 from Boston College with a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in anesthesia and became a board-certified anesthesia provider.I worked at major hospitals in Boston for 18 years providing anesthesia for clients going under a wide variety of surgical procedures.

I began to realize that mental health was a key factor in my patient’s health and outcome from surgery.

 During the challenging covid period, I went back to school to widen my practice to include psychiatry. I became a psychiatric mental health Nurse Practitioner. I have been working as a psych Nurse Practitioner in an inpatient setting, while continuing to provide anesthesia at major institutions in the Boston area.

 In both realms I am dedicated to collaboration with clients to understand their health care needs, whether physical or mental. I regard this as a partnership with my patients to find the best plan of care for their individual situation.
