Individual Therapy

Individual Counseling, Individual Therapy, and Psychotherapy – different names for therapies with the same goal: to work with people one-on-one to help them help themselves. With each session, the hope is to discover, then reduce or eliminate, whatever it is that might be causing a patient emotional pain, anxiety, sorrow, or other distress or suffering.

Our goal is to relieve our patient’s distress in the short term, and then guide them toward long-term solutions. Together, we will question irrational beliefs and allow time for self-discovery to make healthier decisions.

Family Therapy

In our work with family, our therapists recognize the importance of creating a strong bond with each family member, and creating a valuable therapeutic relationship. To establish this bond, our therapists perform a close analysis of family behavior and then mold treatment to fit the family. Therapists choose from a variety of evidence-based psychotherapy techniques, backed by extensive research in family psychology and behavior.

It also is important to point out what should be obvious in most cases: that a patient’s problems can involve the patient’s family – which is why our therapists work with patient and their families concurrently. In addition to helping the therapist discover the causes of the patient’s issues, this approach allows the family to learn about the psychology that might be at the root of those issues, and to understand the evidence-based treatments that the therapist is applying.
